Score!
Santa delivered last night
(and ate all the cookies too).
Apparently I have been very good.
Santa (or someone) has been reading my blog and knew how much I wanted a typewriter.
(Actually this beauty came from my very sweet husband).
I am delighted
and will be pounding out some mail starting tomorrow.
The funny thing is, I actually read about my own surprise on Tom's blog but didn't put it together: http://cambridgetypewriter.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-rush.html
Yahoo! And there is another VERY happy camper up here in WA who has thee most beautiful pink pashmina around her never-to-be-cold-again shoulders. Merci Beaucoup, ma chér amie.
Merry Christmas! The first thing I noticed was your beautiful tree :-) And then the great-looking typewriter! I remember having a typewriter when I was 10 or 11, it sure gave me some exercise for my fingers. But the text all looked so pretty.
Congrats on your typewriter. I have two. One from the 60s, but ribbon is dry, and one that is older that a friend left behind when moving to Europe. I blogged about them. I hope one day to get new ribbons for both and do a project with them. My favorite font on Word is American Typewriter, but it's not the same as the real thing, right? Happy typing.
What a beautiful home and such a hip gift! I'm ready to move in. Sending you a friend request via IUOMA asap! Also- check out old typewriter ribbon tins on eBay- there are some really cool designs- even if the ribbon is old and dust.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen! Yup--see you on IUOMA and I will send you a mailart 365 postcard. Thanks for the eBay tip too. I am having fun with the typewriter.
