Score!

Santa delivered last night
(and ate all the cookies too).
Apparently I have been very good.

Santa (or someone) has been reading my blog and knew how much I wanted a typewriter.
(Actually this beauty came from my very sweet husband).
I am delighted
and will be pounding out some mail starting tomorrow.

The funny thing is, I actually read about my own surprise on Tom's blog
but didn't put it together:

Good thing the surprise wasn't ruined!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

A Happy Mail Box

Lots of wonderful mail coming in....
who knew there were so many of us out there?
A Very Happy Mail Box indeed.

From Linda

and Garci --
love that airline luggage sticker on her envelope.

And this mysterious postcard arrived with no identifying marks or names, not even a postmark -- who sent it?
Maybe it 's from the Mailart 365 Project
http://mailart365.blogspot.com/

Another beautiful watercolor from Marni in Malaysia

Very cool from Alice

And from Tallie

AndyGeezer IUOMA
A Welcome to the Mailart 365 group

Check out this great bug stamp!
Love it.

Mail is coming in faster than I can ever photograph it

and post it on here -- or answer it!
I must get out my art supplies and my pens and get busy,
because
we all know you've got to send mail to get mail.

I think I'll go make some postcards.

On Their Way

Busy weekend,
lots of typewriter envelope love went out today,
to places all over. Handmade postcards too.

And, happily, lots of mail has been coming in!
You'll see soon.
Thanks everyone.

All I Want For Christmas

I want my very own Art O Mat

Red would be nice

All stocked up

And a Photo Booth would be good too.

Dear Santa
I've been very good
so please keep this in mind.

I'd also like a typewriter.

If I don't get what I wished for, at least I know I can go over to Rayko Gallery in San Francisco and play with their toys.

And, I have been buying a few postal presents for myself.
More about those later.

Postal Fun in Chinatown

Air Mail Paper -- love that airplane -- just lined paper inside but I had to have that airplane.

Air mail envies --- very cool -- haven't seen these before.

Love the good-luck envelopes.
They are for gifting money but I like using them for gifting stamps (or maybe gift cards).
So pretty.

Practice your A, B C's....

Love the air mail sign so much - here is a close-up.

Ok, this isn't mail but I really liked the way this alley looked.

Chinatown is a lot of fun for shopping. I have been exploring for years and still always come across something interesting every time I visit.
Good time to browse Chinatown, I guess everyone is downtown Christmas shopping.

Happy Mail Day.

Surprise!

Someone I know is going to get a surprise that's inside this box.
No, not ravioli.
After Christmas you'll all see what's inside and have a chance to
win one!

Incoming

Lovely mail from a new contact from the IUOMA

A Holiday surprise from a Postal pal.
Very fun.

From Sally in London -- this one made out through the snow -
via air mail, of course.
(Love that stamp)

My pal RO strikes again.

This one is really nice -- envelope made from (what looks like) an old page from a book.
Notice the PO managed to tear it on the left side but it still arrived OK
and  thankfully not in a "We Care" bag!
(Thanks Joshua)

From The Netherlands -- wonderful handmade envelope with letter, postcards and a recipe inside.
 Thanks so much, Annejo.

Definitely a good mail day (or two).

Some Mail Going Out and a Give-Away

Collage coffee card went out to a coffee lover.
Of course, I love cappuccino.

I finally got my nerve up to tear up one of the typewriting manuals
and make some envelopes.
Still lots of great pages in there.

Anybody want one? Post a comment and I will send you one.
(Let me know if you want it sent through the mail to you or enclosed in an envelope for you to send).

A thank-you note to a pal.

Heading out to Baton Rouge....
(you know who you are).

A wonderful incoming from someone I hope will be a new postal pal..
I took this letter out to lunch with me.

Mail stories: A pal in Panama sent me a letter over a month ago which never arrived.
He e-mailed to ask about it. It turns out the postal service in Panama isn't real great. Postboxes and Post Offices are few and far between and very often mail goes missing.

Another friend from England, wrote to say, she has been snowed in for a week and no mail was delivered because the postmen "didn't have the right shoes".
Gives new meaning to our postal motto
"Through rain, and snow and sleet".

Ok, we don't get snow or sleet here in San Francisco but it is raining like crazy as I write this.
And, I'm sure, I'll get my mail delivery today.

Hope I get something good!

Sunday Colors (Ivory)

San Francisco Main Library
Another set of Sunday colors -- today a calming ivory -- to offset the busy time of year.
An amazing old ledger written in Italian in beautiful cursive writing.

A pop-up art gallery of white papercuts in a storefront
in San Francisco's Mission District.

Beautiful calligraphy

Old ivory paper umbrellas in LA's Chinatown.

Road Trip clouds.........

Greetings from rainy San Francisco.
