Marche aux Puces Those old keys! |
I am back from my travels and I don't want to be.....so, just to cheer me up, how about you come along to the marche aux puces avec moi...... I promise, you will have a great time. |
When I move to Paris, I know where I can buy all my old flat wear... |
I found some old French holy cards and postcards in this box.. |
Tres chic, wouldn't you say? |
The flea market was huge....table after table after table....and I had to see them ALL. |
These were tempting but I didn't buy...I think they are rollers for stamping... |
I did buy some of these sweet old vintage bags .... I will find a way to include them in my altered book or travel journal. |
Hummmmmmm, ant killer? |
Ooh ooh la la? Mais oui?
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat! You have great self-control. I bought something from a French flea market once. Madeline bakeware for Erin. I don't think she ever used it but I sure had fun ordering. I'd have gotten the vintage bags too. Do you ever come across vintage fountain pens in your travels?
Hope you catch up to yourself during your lie down. :)
Limner -- I have seen old fountain pens -- yes. I loved the two flea markets I went to -- much better than retail for sure. And I often just photograph things i like rather than buy.....but I did get some treasures too.
DeleteI kept an eye on facebook and instagram and your blog while you were travelling! I love everything you posted and I wouldn't mind more. ^^
ReplyDeleteYou must be getting tired of me by now! Thanks so much for taking the time to look--and to comment. I try to mix it up and keep things interesting as much as I can.
DeleteOooh yes! Show more. Please! I love seeing what's at these places--and hearing what you might do with it. It feeds my brain.
ReplyDeleteWell, Pollie, that is sure nice to know. Thanks very much for letting me know you enjoy the photos. I am working on a few art projects which I will post later.
DeletePamela, your adventuring seems so fabulous!! I would love to see what you have bought, the Paris & Lisbon flea markets... rubber stamp shops.
ReplyDeleteI've only been lurking for weeks but this post brought me out, I don't think I could have held back at those stamp roller things. Although, often I get weird things like that and then they just sit around at my house & I don't know what to do with them.
Well, Tammy Gross -- i am happy to "meet" you and glad you commented. I do have a rule that if I buy things I must USE them...that helps a little...I kinda wish I bought those roller things too but it's too late now. I bought quite a lot of very old papers to use in collages and my books....I am having fantasies of gathering all my art pals and having an art field trip to Paris....
DeleteAn art field trip to Paris...Oh be still my heart, if only, well in my dreams...
Deleteit's me, tamdoll (Tammy Gross) ... I guess I was signed in as another account, but still me. Virtual blog lurker, yet to finish crafting anything.
DeleteWell, it is in my dreams too, Bonnie but I just might make it happen.....
Deletetamdoll -- you are funny! You knit, don't you? I seem to recall seeing some wonderful knitting on IG???
DeleteYup, that's me. I do a little bit of everything. :)
DeleteYes, I'd (we'd) love to see the Lisbon flea market photos. I love the Paris flea market pics! What about covert pics of Parisians? If you have any, I'd love to see those too. Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteGarci -- I like your style! I was kicking myself for not taking photos of the Paris people watching -- people looked AMAZING. I saw some very creative and terrific outfits and EVERYONE, male and female, young and old, was wearing a cool scarf. Every time I am in Paris I tell myself I want to dress up -- but things are just so casual here in SF........you are going to love the Lisbon Flea market.....
DeleteLove all of your photos. Yes, I would LOVE to see more. The Lisbon flea market, sounds as good, as Paris. If I can't be there, your pictures are the next best thing. I appreciate you sharing with all of us. Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to say that, so glad you enjoy the photos. I am a photographer in my professional life and I can't help but take a lot of photos and want to share them. I worry I might share too many.....
Deletethanks so much for your comment.
Wonderful, more please. ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jacki -- will do!
DeleteI want to see it ALL. I live vicariously, so this makes up for the fact I can't travel this year. I want those KEYS. And did I see correctly that one set of spoon and fork were 65 Euros? Pretty steep indeed. I did love the various things you saw and would also have bought the stamp roller thingy. At least ONE.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, dear Pamela. I really want to see everything. You may think we'll be bored seeing every photo you took, but I promise you, we will not.
You are very kind, Elizabeth -- i will share more until somebody cries STOP! Yes, those keys are pretty great. There were tons of them in Lisbon too and I didn't buy any so I had to buy some Paris.....and they are heavy! Thanks for your comment.
DeleteSo happy to hear you are safely back home....goodness I would have been in sensory overload!!!!! Tracked your IG pics and loved them all - very interested to see your purchases and more pics of the Flea Markets - and any other great places for finding ephemera...
ReplyDeleteHi Jewels -- those flea markets there are the BEST! I am glad you are enjoying seeing photos and thanks for taking time to comment. I took a lot more photos than actually buying things and I had a great time looking at everything. I don't think they know how lucky there are over there -- I sure never ever see flea markets like those here in the Bay Area....
Deleteoh yes, continue to share! So much fun seeing where you've been. Yes, you will have to add "interesting people" pictures on your next trip! I found the window displays in Paris to be fascinating as well. So glad you had a great trip. Enjoy your personal time zone for a while!
ReplyDeleteYes, I will add "interesting people" to my list next time -- I did actually think of it when we were madly people watching at the opera but I didn't do it -- and I didn't want to look like a tourist on the Metro so no photos from the people watching there....If I keep my mouth shut everyone thinks I'm French....
DeleteI would love to see some pictures of the Lisbon Flea Market! I've been to a few markets in Paris (it was a highlight of our trip several years back) so I'm curious how they compare.
ReplyDeleteAdrienne -- I will share the Lisbon photos next. Glad there is some interest in seeing them. The markets are similar but Lisbon was less expensive for sure.....but the Paris Flea is pretty wonderful too, as you know...
DeleteWow! How very exciting!! I loved each photo and can't wait to see what you do with the sweet bags you purchased Pamela!
ReplyDeletei would love to see more photos, yes, of Lisbon and any others you wish to share! And..I am heading over to follow you on IG to catch up there as well!
