Bring Back Mr Zip

I am convinced the USPS needs to bring back Mr Zip.

They really couldn't go wrong -- everybody loves him.

Oh yeah -- we send good mail here in California.

At the rate things are going, I'm not so sure that is going to happen.

The back of the Mr Zip book -- so cool.

I love Mr Zip and I have the rubber stamps to prove it.

Come on, USPS -- put Mr Zip back on postal branding.
We want a Mr Zip Postage Stamp!!!
Say it loud.

I even save all the ZIPs from my vintage stamps. He is just so cute.

So what do you say?
Are we going to start a letter writing campaign or Facebook page to
BRING BACK MR ZIP
???
I know he would create goodwill. If the USPS actually cares about creating an image I think this would be a great way to get people to smile -- even while waiting in line at the
post office.
And think of the tee shirts -- the tote bags -- and the book
MR ZIP MAKES MAIL ART
Who's in?

Send Good Mail -- Get Good Mail

  2. Have Mr. Zips too. But, if someone ended my retirement I'd be mad as hell if I were Mr. Z. What would be the point? Americans know their zip codes. We need a Ms Zip but she would need a job too. :)

    1. Well, Limner -- there is a new zip code now with the four extra digits so he would have a job. i think Mr Zip is bored and wants to come back. He likes attention. A Mrs Zip is a good idea!

    2. Pamela, I am your slow audience member. I predicted rap music would never last. Help me. What would Mr. Zip do? Thanks for your patience. :)

  3. Goodness! Love the book! I bet it was from the 60's!
We could have Mr. Zip,Jr. following in his father's (grandfather's..)
    footsteps!

  6. OMG. Awesome. and YES. Perhaps you could start a petition at whitehouse.gov. If we get enough signatures, the white house has to reply. Also, where did you get Mr. Zip rubber stamps? Too cool.
