Here's a little more mail for you..... We all like handmade envelopes. We've established that. And I am pretty partial to airmail envelopes too. |
KISS (Keep it Simple Silly) Just using airmail envelopes and vintage airmail stamps is simple -- and makes quite a nice mailing. Wouldn't you like to find one of these in your mailbox? |
Making more envelopes....I'm up for anything with a postal theme (as you may have already guessed). |
Bow-ties anyone? |
Or maybe some coffee? |
I work in my studio all day most Sundays and I love to have a stack of outgoing mail ready to ship out on Monday morning. |
How about an adult beverage envelope? This one was fun to make... |
Joss paper envelope.....you know there has to be some joss paper when I'm around... |
OUTGOING stack on my trusty postal scale....when in doubt add more postage....it seems to work well as a theory. Yes, I did say my next post would be showing some of the booklets I'm making. And I have been making booklets and photographing them and sending some out (hello Vizma) but since that post isn't finished I thought I'd show you some more of my envelopes...(booklets next time...) Handmade Envelope Swap on Mail Me Some Art a little eye candy on a Sunday morning? With coffee. What are you all working on today? SEND GOOD MAIL -- GET GOOD MAIL |
Wow, wow, wow!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Connie! And your artist books are totally WOW too....
DeleteLove your adult drink envelopes and the bow ties. Advertising makes such great graphics for the home made envelopes. xox
ReplyDeleteCorrine--those drinks may have been lemonade and punch but I like to think of them as adult beverages.
DeleteAw, the bow tie envelope is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteuncustomary--my pal's husband loves bow ties so it was perfect for her....
DeleteLike you, I enjoy spending my long Sunday afternoons on mail art. I made some envies today from my stack of colorful paper sacks. I liked the end results :>
ReplyDeleteHappy Mail Day -- aren't long Sunday afternoons great fun? And making envelopes is so relaxing....and productive...
DeleteNo making of anything today, but my "covers" are selling on eBay which is so interesting. They are recently from the 20s and 30s and are going far and wide to China, Germany, even California :) People collect them for the postmarks and the stamps and the history even with no letter inside. Interesting, eh?
ReplyDeleteCJ -- interesting. A friend of mine inherited a huge collection of First Day Covers and shared them with our group. And I've gotten a bunch in the mail that have been re-used with added postage. Very fun.
DeleteOoh, hello to you too Pamela! So nice to be mentioned in your wonderful blog...even though it's titled Moron Mail. Haw haw.
ReplyDeleteOh Vizma.....you are funny. And you still don't have my mail? It seems like it's taking an awfully long time.....
DeleteI love the idea of spending Sunday afternoon preparing mail art to send out on Monday morning. Handmade envelopes are a favorite of mine, and I agree with you that a simple airmail envelope covered in fabulous stamps is one of the most aesthetically pleasing sights around!
ReplyDeleteYippee yahooooo! thanks Pamela, your gorgeous postal book arrived yesterday, 30th Aug...I was starting to get worried, phew! Everything about it is so nice, big hug to youuu!
