I have really been busy sending out lots of mail...keep the post office in business and
keep me out of trouble...
plus, as we all know, you've got to send good mail to get good mail.

More outgoing (I told you I've been busy) -- collaged postcards and another creepy envelope.
Creepy in a good way.

INCOMING
Not to complain, but last week wasn't a real great mail week -- except -- all this arrived on Friday
and that was a good mail day.
One day my mail was delivered at 7:40PM! Can you believe it? I have to say, I think that really
is way too late.
And after waiting all day long for it to come, I didn't get anything good.

INCOMING
Three collaged postcards, loaded with stamps, have arrived from New Delhi, India.
I have a friend living there for several months and she is making mail art
and taking cooking lessons -- so I am hoping for an Indian dinner when she gets back (are you listening DD?)

Correspondence Co-Op Meeting
on Wednesday night. Always fun. Getting my passport stamped with artistamps
is just part of the fun....

Seeing Catwrangler's fabulous postal bag was another highlight....

Show and Tell is always fun too - CW made a stamp-carving zine and brought in some
Eraser Stamps that can be used for carving rubber stamps...
I'm going to have to try making some..

ZINE FEST

How can it already be September? Time is flying by. So many art projects
and (it seems) so little time.
The annual SF Zine Fest was this last weekend here in San Francisco and
it was a whole lot of fun.

Miss RED LETTER DAY
Jennie Hinchcliff setting up our SF Correspondence Co-Op table at the
zine fest. We had artistamps and zines and lots of people looking (and buying) and
lots of fun.

Before the zine fest, Jennie hosted a workshop on making several different kinds
of zines/origami booklets/sewn books....

Correspondence Co-Op Meeting

Our last Co-Op meeting was really fun too. Alyson Kuhn of
Felt & Wire
was there and she wrote about our wonderful mail art group. And, I took some of the
photos so check out the link.

Co-Op Meeting

Another meeting - back in our old space. These mail art meetings are so much
fun. Hope this encourages others to start up a group.
We share techniques, make zines and artistamps, have a swap table, do show and tell...
Rumor has it our next meeting we will have a stamp carving tutorial...
and of course there is food.....

Yesterday I did not get any mail at all. Now how wrong is that?
I am still waiting to see what happens today.

I'm working on making a giant NYC origami booklet with lots of pages made
from menus and maps...
and making a couple of travel albums to take on my upcoming trip..

What Have I Done?

Where have I been? I just realized it has been about twelve days since my last post.
Time just flies by, I tell you.
I've been busy.

Working on my zine for one thing. The Correspondence Co-Op is having a
table at the SF Zine Fest next weekend.
You've gotta have a zine at a zine fest, right?
There is also going to be a table for creating mail art and all kinds
of other wonderful things to do and see so I hope to see some of you there.

I have had several ideas for postal zines but no time to make them.
But now I have this one all finished. I'll post some photos of the finished version next time.

We'll see if anyone buys these and maybe I'll make some more...

Is that a GREEN Dymo-taper I see?

You bet. Someone knew green is my favorite color and gifted with me
not one - but two - green Dymo's.
Vertical and horizontal.
With Red Dymo tape.
How cool is that?

And, oh yes, I did got to a wonderful meeting of the Co-Op last Sunday.
Lots and lots of show-and-tell and sharing and fun.
We really do have too much fun.

Of course my passport got numerous stamps--mailbox artistamp by JH,
Dahlia artistamps by GinaVisione and typewriter artistamps by JU.
How cool are they?

For once I actually sat and collaged some postcards with papers I found at the meeting.
Usually I socialize.
This time I managed to multi-task.

And I've been sending out lots of mail. PLH is taking a train trip so there is a
definite train theme going on in the three envelopes I made for her.

I have really been working hard this week trying to reduce my pile of
"To Answer".
A postcard series came to me in the middle of night....

Took a short break from mail art to make up a batch of lemoncello.
If you don't know what that is, you should (trust me).

I particularly liked this one. Hope it has already arrived and I am not spoiling the surprise.

Ok, one more break for a Vietnamese lunch at the PPQ.

Oh boy, all this arrived yesterday, I guess I am not catching up at all.
But I am NOT complaining.
Keep sending me mail (please).

Has anyone read the rumor that the USPS wants to deliver mail only three days a week?
My letter carrier just told me that.
I hope to God it is a rumor and not true. This could be very painful for mail artists and snail mail lovers.

Last night was our third Correspondence Co-Op meeting hosted  by Miss Red Letter Day herself.
These meet-ups are just too much fun.
There was an appearance by the Burning Man PostMaster himself -- James Cline.

Busy, busy - socializing, working on mail art, trading supplies and stories. Everyone has so much to share.

And traveling to Mail Art Land, you need a passport, of course.

With special visas and artistamps.
I have got to learn how to make artistamps. Put that on my to-do list.

These are just too cool for words.

I guess that's a wrap, folks. Love to hear if anyone knows about the postal delivery cut-backs. And, I hope all of you mail lovers in the sweltering parts of the US and staying cool.
You could always visit the Cool Gray City, San Francisco, if things are too hot.
