Joss Paper Booklets

My love for various Asian paper continues. (Actually I love all paper but you probably already guessed that).
I made up a few little joss paper booklets and sent them out into the world.
Thought you all might enjoy seeing them. They are all a little different.
I had to keep one for myself of course.
These are totally easy to make and a lot of fun to write in -- or share with friends.
I'd rather get something like this for Halloween than candy.

Talk among yourselves and keep those comments coming (even if they may be slow on appearing on the blog..... they'll show up....)

Museum of Artistamps

Imagine taking a taxi ride in Seattle, going up a flight of stairs and opening up a door to find an magic world of  artistamps.
I have never seen so many artistamps in my life (and I've seen quite a few).
Robert Rudine the gracious host of the Museum of Artistamps (MOA) in Seattle and his charming wife, the writer Janet Yoder were kind enough to invite us to the MOA last week.
Or, maybe I invited myself.....

The world is Tui Tui Land and

Check out the story and the video by Kathleen McHugh....Robert and Janet gave us free reign to wander around and oooh and ah over the vast number of beautiful stamps in the collection.

Bart Stamps

On the wall was a large wooden rubber stamp......

that opened up (both top & Bottom) to use as a writing table and for storage.
How cool is that?

Absolutely everywhere we looked there were wonderful stamps....

Being a photographer by trade, I especially love these EYE stamps by Anna Banana.

And these...so cool....

Really nice storage case....hum...that gave someone an idea....

Really wonderful Harvey Milk artistamps at the MOA and just read today that
Harvey Milk to be Honored on US Postage Stamps
Pretty great.

In a complete chance of venue....this is a shot of the artists on the trip in Portland outside of SCRAP.
They were all in such a hurry to get inside and see what was in there they made me wait to take photos till after the Scrap shopping. And yes, we all scored and there was no fighting. Not too much anyway.

Pictures From an Exhibition

I thought you'd like a little show-and-tell from the art workshop I took in Portland with my special mail art pals, Tallie, Kelly P, Charity and Millicent.
A little eye candy never hurts.
These are some pages I made. The idea was the cut out the little faux stamps we made but I like the way the whole page looks...
ok, I'm different...in a good way.

I love how art supplies look spread all over a table.

On the left we have the lovely Miss Millicent and on the right is the fearless mailer Kelly P (who has been mentioned here on my blog many times) and in the center is our
Fantasy Faux Mail workshop leader, Sondra Holtzman.

She was lovely and we had all sorts of fun in her wonderful class.

A few of Miss Millicent's envelopes.....I love that bird...and the catsup bottle...I love it all.

And here we have Charity who joined us all the way from Alaska. Thank goodness she was with us giving directions using her phone app or we would never even made it to the workshop.
We started calling her Map.

Charity opened up an envelope and made a letter booklet out of it. Good idea, don't you think?

The class was a lot of fun -- everyone generous with sharing information and supplies and good-natured and friendly. Sondra was a great leader and went around from table to table answering questions, giving demos, helping everyone out. Lots of lovely things to look at and get new ideas from.
