When in doubt, have a cupcake! There seems to be quite a few cupcake bakeries around NYC.
If you are going, here are some of my favorite places -- you can just Google them to check them out (I can't do all the work!)
The Ink Pad Casey's Rubber Stamps Cornelia Street Cafe Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) The Neue Gallery (have lunch there!) Junior's (for a deli sandwich or a piece of cheesecake) Mee Noodle (if you are closeby a nice stop for lunch) The High Line EATERY
Magnolia Bakery
The Shake Shack
Pigalle Restaurant
Zabar's
The Public Library and Bryant Park
Katz Deli
Just a few of the places I like to go. Now I need to go back into my studio and get to work. I seem to have one too many projects going on here but that really isn't such a bad thing. Finishing up the NYC books, catching up on mail art, working on a couple of zines, trying to think of what to make for holiday gifts, working on Turkey mail......the list goes on.....so stay tuned.
If you have a fabulous NYC suggestion to share with everyone, please leave a comment. I know I have only scratched the surface of great things to do in NYC.

So glad you visited the High Line - it is one of my favorite places in NYC.
ReplyDeleteLove the High Line -- Every time I've visited NYC recently I have gone on a new section -- but I think they are finished with it now, right?
Deleteokay, you got me! added to my list of places to go, now! great photos, as usual. thank you.
ReplyDeleteDori -- I think we should go together and have a big fat ART ADVENTURE!
DeleteThanks for sharing your photos! I personally also enjoy a visit to Kate's Paperie. And Strand's. But I think I have enough books (if such a thing is possible).
ReplyDeleteCindy -- oh yeah -- both good too -- but I think I have enough books too.
DeleteWonderful! You make me want to hop a plane and go! Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jacki -- why not do it? Well worth a visit....
DeleteCOOL PLACE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, Sue!
DeleteGenerally I don't like NYC. It's too dark in spirit for me, but I would love to see the high line and visit the ink pad and tinsel trading, other than museums, the rest you can keep. xox
ReplyDeleteOh pooh--Corrine -- it is fabulous! maybe you haven't been there in (fairly) recent years. The streets were mean in the 80's but things have totally changed. People are so friendly it is kind of weird -- but nice!
DeleteHey Ms PG -- great blog post (again!). I'm a NYC fan too (as you know). I used to have a guy working for me that was a NYC cab driver. I used to tell him how nice New Yorkers were to me --stopping to give directions, etc-- when I had expected them to be mean. He would say "oh --those aren't the real new yorkers. Those are people who live in Manhattan." HA! He said the real New Yorkers only lived in the boroughs --and you had to go there to experience the meanness. He was a trip. The Matisse cut out show looked fab. It seems like I have a dim memory of a cut out show at the old SFMOMA when it was still on Van Ness. Do you remember that? Or am I making it up? xox Sally
ReplyDeletesallyw3000 -- that is a riot! Well I have stayed in Queens and Brooklyn and everyone was nice there too. I don't recall a Matisse cut-outsshow at the old SFMoma but I could ask my pal who is the installer of shows from way back....in the mean time you are welcome to come over here and look at the book from the show I bought...and my NYC booklets too....miss you. xo
DeleteIn NYC again....you lucky lucky girl!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of the most inspiring place in the world. (For me)
High Line, MOMA, Brooklyn Bridge.. many thanks for the great photos!
You reactivated my own memories.
Glad to hear it, Susannicon -- maybe you better think about buying a plane ticket? So much fun there.....it is inspiring to me too.

ReplyDeletepam foster -- I love packing up my mail art kit and going! happy to hear from another NYC-lover.
DeleteIt calls for a escapade for sure! I'll go straight to the cheese. And then walk to the Ink Pad. Fab!
ReplyDeleteMarie W -- yes! Let's eat cheese & drink wine. (That's what I always do in France). I think you, Vizma and I should rent an apartment for a week or two in NYC and have an art adventure! (PS Dod you see the comment from Melissa in DC on that older post? Check it out - she wants you to e-mail her)
DeleteWonderful tour. You definitely hit the highlights of NYC!!
