Fun at the Fair

The Vintage Paper Fair rolled around again this past weekend here in San Francisco.
I debated going. After all, I do not need any more STUFF in my studio.
Trust me.

OK, I couldn't resist. I just love to get in there and look at all that
PAPER.
It is such a pleasure to see all those old postcards and photos and stamps and envelopes --
and to run into my friends too.

I can look, can't I?

Saturday was an incredible 85' here in San Francisco -- a perfect day to go over to Golden Gate Park and go to the Paper Fair.....

These old postcards are sure a lot more fun than the new ones. In fact, I picked up a supply
of beautiful vintage black & white New York City postcards
so I am all set for my next NYC visit.

My Stash -- I was really good. I only spent $10 and stuck to buying only the 25-cent postcards.
I am going to have a whole lot of fun playing with these.

I am still loving using that old Atlas to make envelopes - love the muted
blues and mauves. And the Cherry Blossom stamps go with those envelopes beautifully.

so this is what I did.

    Vintage Paper Fair! NO fair! Why does SF have the best stuff?! Love all the outgoing mail. I need to reignite our correspondence because I miss hearing from you. Expect something soon!!

    Olivia--we are lucky to have the Vintage Paper Fair here in SF three times a year -- next one is in August. I have written other posts about it. It is really a lot of fun.

    Once again, I am blown away at the thought of a paper fair...and three times a year?!?! Lucky you. And you DID show amazing restraint; I can't imagine! Love all that gorgeous mail!

    You did very well. I try to limit myself to the $1 boxes.

    Now, as for food, I thought of you when I went to a local Ramen place (Boke Bowl) where among other things they have homemade 'twinkies'. Yesterday's was Vanilla Miso. Next time I'll snag a menu and make an envelope for you. Although if you come up here, I'd happily treat you to lunch. :)

    Liar Liar Pants on Fire ....! Only $10? Really? I told myself $50, and unfortunately inched up to $75 (of course, rationalizing w/my recent tax return...). I missed seeing you there Madame P., in the last few hours before closing time on our last beautiful Sat., but I was 'upstairs' in the 25 cent boxes, $1 boxes, and a few others :D. Love all the beautiful mail pics ~~

      I was in the upstairs 25-cent room too! And yes, only spent $10 (this time anyway...) but I have been binging on washi tape and rubber stamps.....oh no...

    How ever could you only spend $10 at the vintage paper fair. But oh what a score. Thanks for the sad beach girl, and love that calendar page, great. I am going to have to see if we ever have something like that fair here, it would be fantastic. xox

      I bet there is a vintage fair in the Boston area....there must be a lot of vintage paper back there -- and postcard collectors. Good luck.
      And yes...no one believes me...but I only spent $10......
