Hello 2016! Hello Peeps!

2015 -- It's a wrap!

I spent all day long in my studio today - January 1 - and what a wonderful way to start off the year.
I wrapped up my 2015 datebook and added it to the stack.

The 2016 datebooks are ready and waiting. Yup, two. I decided to make a larger one to record projects I work on and write down ideas....two is better than one, isn't it?
And a bird in the hand....

Here's the back of the larger book -- my pal Monica had sent me a thank-you card a while back and it is too good not to use for something....

Now THIS is what I have been wanting to see -- a blank calendar! I don't even know what day it is by this time of the year.....
OK, January isn't all a blank -- this IS San Francisco after all.....The Film Noir Festival, The ***Vintage Paper Fair***, a visit from a mail-art pal. and a SF Correspondence Co-Op meeting....oh...and work....but at the moment things are looking pretty calm.

One of my 2016 goals is to get myself up to Portland for a PDXCC mail art meeting.
I'm trying....

2016
And if you've got to have a list of goals, why not make them pretty? So many projects, so little time...but these are some things I really want to make happen.
What about you?
What projects do you want to work on this year? Skill you want to learn? Do tell. It's fun to hear what others are planning on working on...

Happy New Year/2016 to all my Peeps!
Thank you all for your lovely blog comments, for liking the Cappuccino&Art Facebook page, for sending me mail art and surprises in the mail.
So many of you have become "real life" friends and I'm hoping I will meet even more of you in the upcoming year.

Isn't it wonderful to have a brand new year?
Anything is possible.

    1. Dori -- the datebooks don't go back as far as I thought they did -- 2008 i think -- but I have journals going back years and years.....

  10. I buy my diary, but keep a year book with all the fun things that I go to. Like museums, theater or creative courses. So I make a new one for 2016 and look through the one from 2015. So nice to see all those happy memories. Love you diary!

  12. Happy New Year Pamela! Looking forward to a great Vintage Paper Fair in two weeks, thanks for the mention! I love flipping through my datebook at the end of each year when I transfer birthday's and anniversary's. Plans this year are to take a drawing class or two, journal constantly and add sketches, redecorate, figure out a backup plan professionally, keep discovering children's books and graphic novels and get to Portland every chance I can!

    1. Hi Michelle -- I cant wait for the VPF and to see you!! Maybe we can sneak out for a coffee? (or I can bring you one). You go to Portland every chance you get? Maybe we should fly up there together! Your plans sounds great -- I will have to ask you about the children's books when I see you. I have some oldies. See you soon.

  14. Life has been so busy that it doesn't even feel like a new year yet. December just blended right into January. I would like to send more mail though. I can always do that!

  15. That's a pretty fabulous list, Pamela! I just hauled my sewing machine out of the shed as well. I've had it since I was 16, so I suspect it's okay to use it for sewing paper now. It doesn't see much (any) action sewing fabric anymore! As for my list, for now I'll strive to create a little something everyday. I'd also like to learn how to draw.

    1. Adrienne -- you are steps ahead of me. My sewing machine is still buried -- and unthreaded -- in a closet. But I will do it. Doing something creative every day is the best goal of all! Happy new year.

  21. I'm only eight days late visiting, but had to stop by and say hello and a belated Happy New Year. Missed you at T, so wanted to make sure all was OK at your place.

For me, organization and purging are ongoing events, and I plan to do it once a month this year. I also plan to use more and different tools in my arsenal, and without buying anything new, expand my mixed media art.

I hope you get to attend the Portland mail art meeting at least once this year, maybe more! That would be a very happy year, I'm sure.

    1. Hi Elizabeth -- thanks for visiting. Sorry to miss T blogs but it seems I post about once a week and couldn't quite fit it into my blogging "schedule" but I will try to join in the fun every so often. I love to check in to see what you are up to.
I think I would be a lot more organized if I had more storage space. It is hard to put things away when there is no place to put them. But, of course, that could be because i have too much stuff. I always think I will use all paper ephemera in an art project soI keep it...
I am still working on portland -- but NYC is coming up fast first....
      Happy New Year!
